情報学研究科は,米国オハイオ州立大学と締結している学術交流協定に基づいて、附属価値創造研究センターに外国人客員教員を招へいしています。

附属価値創造研究センターは平成30年5月7日より滞在をしているÜmit Özgüner特任教授(Emeritus Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, The Ohio State University)による講演会を下記の通り開催します。また今回は准教授 竹内 栄二朗先生、特任准教授 Luis Yoichi Morales先生によるお話もあります。

【Prof. Emeritus Ümit Özgüner】
Ümit Özgüner received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois and held positions at I.B.M. Research Labs, University of Toronto and Istanbul Technical University.
He has been with the Ohio State University since 1981, and is now a Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
He still participates in research projects at OSU, and is the TRC Inc. Chair on ITS. He is the Director of the “Crash Imminent Safety” University Transportation Center at OSU.
 
Prof. U. Özgüner is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
He is a recognized expert on autonomous vehicle development and deployment issues and their utility in mixed traffic, networked environments.
He also works on research on Cyber-Physical Systems and Sliding Mode Control. He has been the Plenary or Keynote speaker at a number of international Conferences and received the OSU CoE Lumley Research Award 6 times.
In 2014 the IEEE Control Society honored him with a Workshop in his name at the annual Decision & Control Conference, and in 2015 he was selected for the IEEE ITS Society Outstanding Research Award.
He is the author or co-author of over 400 publications including a 2011 book on Autonomous Ground Vehicles.
He has advised over 30 students on their PhD related studies. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the new IEEE Transactions of Intelligent Vehicles, initiated in 2016.
He has extensive experience in directing multi-researcher projects.
Teams he coordinated participated successfully in the 1997 Automated Highway System Technology Demonstration, the DARPA 2004 and 2005 Grand Challenges, and the DARPA 2007 Urban Challenge.
Dr. U. Özgüner’s research has been supported by many industrial companies including Ford, GM, Honda, OKI, Toyota and DURA; and organizations like NSF, DoT, AFOSR, NASA and AFWAL.
He has consulted with a number of companies, both in the US and overseas.
